As the Annette Bosworth trial entered its second day, a bizarre line of questioning came up several times: the attorney representing South Dakota asked witnesses who admitted to signing a petition for Dr. Annette Bosworth whether they knew and supported her politics.

There’s no legal requirement whatsoever that a person needs to be familiar with or agree with a candidate’s “politics” in order to sign a petition supporting them to be on the ballot.

So there’s no legal relevance at all to the question and think about it: it’s asking a U.S. citizen about their politics beliefs under oath.

Political intimidation has been the name of the game here from the jump.
